HOW TO SUBMIT TO JADED
Photographers, writers, journalists, artists, fashion designers, stylists, and beauty artists: we are open to submissions! We are always happy to receive them, and we write back to every sender. Please submit your work or proposal for consideration to editor@jadedmag.com. Please read the guidelines below thoroughly before submitting.
All submissions must be sent to editor@jadedmag.com in the body or attachments of the email, or a Dropbox link may be included instead. Please do not submit your work via WeTransfer or Google Drive. Include a title(s) and all relevant credits and sources if applicable, such as a team list, clothing and accessory credits, and primary or secondary resources for writing pieces. In the subject line, write either “Print Submission” or “Digital Submission,” respectively. Lastly, don’t forget to introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about you!
This brand emphasizes a slow-made, hands-on, intimate production process with innate attention to individuality and inclusion. Free from trend-induced boundaries, Jaded embraces unconventional aesthetics to create new, mindful content for a diverse audience. This is a space that does not exclude, outcast, compare, or compete. Jaded features a variety of individuals and is committed to amplifying the voices of small creatives within fashion, photography, art, performance, music, film, literature, journalism, beauty, and culture. Jaded also focuses on queer, POC, and female visibility, global issues, and equity through interviews and features, both in print and digital platforms.
Our print content is detached from current trends. Everything we publish within our issues must still be relevant after printing. Our digital content’s approach— both for social media and online digital features— revolves around utilizing creative and visual experiences as vessels for a deeper narrative about global and social happenings. Submissions for digital content may feature a unique take on current events and culture.
We accept submissions for both print and digital features. In both cases, we look for work that fits with the visual and narrative identity of Jaded. We may also consider print submissions for digital features, and vice versa.
SUBMISSIONS FOR PRINT
Each print issue of Jaded focuses on a broad, central theme that will not be disclosed to the public until after publication. Content in print issues falls under three categories: concept photoshoots with accompanying writing pieces, image-only features, and writing-only features. Image-only features may consist of photography or fine art work, such as painting, illustration, sculpture, ceramics, metal and jewelry work, etc. Writing-only features may consist of personal narrative pieces, poetry and prose, short stories, culture and lifestyle articles, beauty articles, research and history articles, etc.
If you are interested in submitting work for consideration to be featured in our print issues, please send your portfolio. If we feel you are a good fit for the current issue, you will be contacted with more information. We may either feature existing work or collaborate with you to develop new work. In the case of collaboration, the artist receives a brief that explains specific themes and topics, our visual expectations, and other relevant details such as deadline. Through an exchange of moodboards and meetings, we will develop work together that reflects the artist’s personality and unique perspective while also reflecting the Jaded brand.
Not all work may be a good fit for our current print issue; however, we may choose to contact you regarding a digital feature for our online platform. We also keep every submission in mind for future issues and may reach out to you regarding future features.
SUBMISSIONS FOR DIGITAL
We are also always looking for creatives and freelancers to feature on our online platform and on Instagram. Digital features may be image-only— such as editorial photoshoots or series— or interviews, personal narrative pieces, poetry and prose, short stories, culture and lifestyle articles, beauty articles, research and history articles, etc. with accompanying images.
Instagram features showcase up and coming creatives and current happenings, such as news and upcoming projects, in a more concise and condensed format than our digital features.
We are happy to feature a variety of genres and topics, such as photographers, writers, fashion designers, fine artists, beauty artists, and more. To submit a proposal for digital feature consideration, please include the work you wish to be featured, a title, and all relevant credits and details, as well as whether you would like to be featured online or on Instagram.
We carefully consider each submission, its cohesion with the rest of our content, and whether it fits the Jaded brand and narrative at the time. We cannot guarantee that your work will be published with us, but we are always happy to receive and respond to every submission.
